Become a Member

Your membership is the foundation of our success. By joining the ACLD, you strengthen local arts programs and become part of a creative, caring community that values connection through art – as an artist or a volunteer, or both.

As a member, you can:

  • Exhibit Your Work: Participate in monthly member exhibitions at the Ladysmith Gallery—no cost to artists. Installations are curated by our experienced Gallery Manager and team.
  • Sell Your Work: Display and sell your art in our Gallery.
  • Opportunity to apply to our Boutique: Sell your small works of art in our boutique.
  • Deliver Workshops and Classes in our Education Programme: Click here to make a proposal.
  • Gallery Rental: Rent the Ladysmith Gallery for 10 days for guest or group exhibitions. Click here for more information.
  • Digital Support: Receive help using our online entry system.
  • Free Marketing: Enjoy promotional support for monthly exhibitions and artist features.
  • Voting Privileges: Have a say at our Annual General Meeting (based on membership level).
  • Stay Connected: Receive the Ladysmith Arts Newsletter and invitations to exhibition receptions, member-only events, and networking opportunities.

Volunteering offers a chance to connect, learn, and make a lasting impact.

As a volunteer, you can:

  • Support the Arts in Action: Help organize exhibitions, festivals, and community events.
  • Become a Gallery Host: Welcome visitors and share exhibition information (training provided).
  • Assist with Programs: Support art classes, workshops, and youth activities.
  • Share Your Skills: Offer expertise in marketing, administration, event planning, or maintenance.
  • Join a Committee or the Board: Contribute to decision-making that shapes the future of arts in Ladysmith.

Non-Voting. Not Eligible for all member benefits listed. Meant for Businesses wanting to support the ACLD or Artist groups or collectives. Art groups or collectives can only use this membership for gallery rental contracts. Individual memberships needed by artists to participate in monthly member shows or other Ladysmith Art Events requiring a membership.

Please Note:
– Annual fees are due and payable on anniversary of your membership. A member shall cease to be in good standing and their membership discontinued if their annual fees are not paid within 30 days of expiration. 
– To vote at all General meetings members must be in good standing for at least 30 days. If you want to stand for the Board of Directors or other office you must be in good standing for at least 30 days before the meeting where you wish to stand.
– Memberships are non-refundable, and not transferable. There shall be no rebate on annual dues. 
– Annual fees for each class of membership shall be set by the incoming board of directors at the first regular board meeting after the election at the AGM and rates will be effective immediately.
